About the Editor...Professor Vivienne Harpwood is a barrister and Professor of Law at the University of Wales and a Director of the Centre for Medico-Legal Studies.
As well as having lectured and written for many years on the legal framework of the health service, Professor Harpwood has written extensively on medical law, including works on negligence and clinical risk, and has led many training courses on how to put these developments into practice.
A non-executive director and Vice Chair of Velindre NHS Trust in Wales, Professor Harpwood was a member of the NHS Complaints Review Committee and the Silicone Gel Breast Implant Review Group. She is currently a member of the Ethics Committee for Healthcare Standards in Wales.
Professor Harpwood also edits the newsletter Medical Law Monitor for Informa Healthcare.
